Weasle SEO Tool Update - New Version Coming

08.22.2008 - Admin

In just a couple days, Weasle will officially launch and be made available to new members. I am excited to say that this is a complete rewrite of a system I have been using (privately) for many months now, and this version is even better than what has been churning along on my server for so long.

What Weasle does basically boils down to two tasks:

  1. It attracts search engine spiders to sites
  2. It creates inbound links to sites

In turn, those two tasks of course are essentially what offsite SEO boils down to. The most important aspect of ranking a site well has been (and probably will continue to be) the number of backlinks. (I am not discounting quality of backlinks, anchor text, frequency, etc. here - I’m just explaining what this is “about” at it’s most primitive components.)

Weasle attempts to place links to a given site on social bookmarking sites, within comments on (other people’s) blogs, within articles on WordPress-MU blogs, and via trackbacks. Weasle also rotates through ping lists, pinging the URLs of the sites of Weasle users. How does this benefit a brand-new website, for example? Simple: these two tasks alone account for sites being quickly spidered and indexed, as well as getting an initial advantage of backlinks.

Weasle also includes some additional tools, meant to assist the user in measuring their success. For instance, there is an Analyzer which will rate a site based on a number of factors - and give you an idea of the “strength” of that site.

I arbitrarily placed this at version 1.4 due to the fact that it’s essentially the same functionality, with a couple of improvements and added features. I plan on adding more features as a matter of fact - and hopefully what is now visible as “1.4″ will become an unrecognizable (but cooler!) version 2 eventually.

You might wonder what some of those new features might be - so here’s a partial list of upcoming features:

  • More factors used within the Site Analyzer
  • A “Drip-Feed” scheduler, which will allow a user to submit a number of URLs at once, yet cause them to gradually be worked upon by Weasle
  • Improvements to reporting and stats (for the user)
  • Article/blog post rewriter which will repost rewritten versions of submissions to new locations
  • A Competition Analyzer, which will suggest a strategy to outrank a competitor

I am excited about these changes and improvements, and look forward to posting another update again soon.
